Environmental Conference – The Effects of Climate Change | Arad

 

Under the auspices of the National Grand Lodge of Romania, on November 7, the Environment Conference – Effects of Climate Change was held in Arad, an event dedicated to academic and institutional dialogue on the major challenges posed by climate change and its impact on contemporary society.

The conference was organized in partnership with Aurel Vlaicu University of Arad and Vasile Goldiș Western University of Arad, with the support and involvement of several local associations, bringing together specialists from complementary fields: environmental legislation, ecology, scientific research, digital education, and environmental sciences.

The event took place in the Blue Amphitheatre of the Micălaca Complex of the “Aurel Vlaicu” University in Arad and was moderated by Elena-Ana Iancu, professor, doctor habilitat, corresponding member of the Romanian Academy of Legal Sciences.

Among the guests and speakers at the conference were:

  • Aurel Varga, Chairman of the Environment Committee of the Romanian Senate, who addressed the current legislative framework and the challenges of environmental policies;
  • Iulian Octavian Stana, biologist and ecologist, university lecturer, who analyzed the role of artificial intelligence as a new global challenge for the environment and resources;
  • Cristian Moisa, scientific researcher, with a presentation on the CO₂ paradox and the relationship between biomass and ecosystem resilience;
  • Mihai Mihu, representative of Ecotrack, who presented environmental education solutions through digitization;
  • Adela Dumitrașcu, oceanographer, who brought to light the results of research in polar regions and the signals transmitted by these fragile ecosystems.

The conference represented a coherent approach to informing, raising awareness, and taking responsibility for the environment, reaffirming the commitment of the Grand National Lodge of Romania to support educational, scientific, and civic initiatives that contribute to the common good and the development of a responsible and informed society.
