First conference of the “Leadership and Diplomacy for Romania” Program

On April 17, 2024, the conference “From Communication to Diplomacy: Building Leaders” was held in the Aula of the “Carol I” Central University Library in Bucharest, bringing together participants from institutional, academic, and civil society circles for an applied debate on leadership skills and the role of diplomacy in a changing international context.

The conference was opened by speeches from the Grand Master of the MLNR, Cătălin Tohăneanu, and the Deputy Grand Master, Mircea Gheordunescu, who emphasized the importance of leadership and diplomacy for today’s society.

Among the main guests was Radu Coșarcă, Associate Professor at the University of Bucharest (Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences). In his presentation, “Leader in the Age of Communication,” he analyzed the role of the leader in a constantly changing media environment and highlighted the strategies necessary for effective and credible communication.

Another highlight was the lecture given by Brigadier General (ret.) Dr. Mihai-Liviu Dănilă, diplomat and Associate Professor at CNAI and the Police Academy, former representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In his speech, “Approaches and challenges for the integrated crisis response mechanism,” he presented perspectives from his experience in managing complex situations and emphasized the need for a coordinated, rapid, and effective response.

The conference served as a platform for dialogue and exchange of ideas, focused on developing leadership and diplomacy skills. The event marks the launch of a program that aims to support the training of a new generation of leaders prepared to respond to contemporary challenges and contribute to the evolution of Romanian society.
